Maori business a power for environmental good

From 16-19 November 2017 I attended the Federation of Maori Authorities' annual conference - its 30th - this time in Rotorua, and was reminded again how transformational its members are. Speeches by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern (at right, beside FoMA's indomitable chairman, Traci Houpapa) and Trade and Economic Growth Minister, David Parker, point to what they described as FoMA's future role boosting regional growth while caring for environmental concerns. I had several korero with representatives of major iwi and environmental change advocates across Maoridom, which make me confident Maui's Ark will accelerate with the wind of kaitiakitanga in its sails. Exciting times; watch this space!
